Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to my first pole dancing class?

Leggings or shorts and a fitted top are good choices. Eventually, you'll start wearing less. You think you won't, but you will!

What should I expect in my first pole class?

You'll learn fundamental pole moves like spins, transitions, and some choreography, as well as preps for climbs and inversions.

Do I need to be in shape before I start pole?

Pole dancing requires no previous experience! You don't need upper body strength before you start. Beginners are welcome.

Can I bring a friend along to watch?

THE | BAR is members only. We have a strict no spectator policy for the safety and privacy of our students and instructors.

Do the poles have a weight limit?

Pressure mounted home poles have weight limits, but our professional grade equipment does not. It's bolted in and can hold 2 or 3 people!

What should I sign up for if it's my first class?

We recommend any class marked OF Pole 1. OF stands for Old Fashioned! You'll get a good base and meet great people.
